It has been 6 long years since New York rapper Remy Ma has been free. Back in 2008 she was sentenced to 6 years in prison after the shot her former friend by the name of Makeda Barnes-Joseph in the abdomen after she allegedly stole money from her. Originally the Bronx mc was scheduled to be released yesterday August 31st but due to a alleged phone violation she was unable to leave the facility where her family was waiting for her. Over the past few weeks fans & celebrities have been showing their love & support for Remy as they all expressed how excited they were that she would soon be released.

At 3pm today (August 1st) the former Terror Squad rapper was finally released from the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women. She announced her official release via instagram with a photo that simply stated "I'm back!!!" She was picked up by her husband & rapper Papoose who whisked her away in a white Lamborghini. While serving her time in prison she obtained her associates degree in sociology. Remy Ma will be returning to music & filming a reality tv show, it is rumored that she & her husband will be joining the cast for the upcoming season of Love & Hip Hop: New York but no official word has been announced .
Recently she spoke with Billboard as she states what she will do once she is released:
"I'm going to get my hair done. I'm going to get my nails done. After I get dolled up & lay down some records & my voice is out, I want to get away & get my back blown out for like a week. Mess up the hair & make-up that I got done. I have been in prison for a while.
