Mary J. Blige has created a strong foundation as a music artist with a career that goes all the way back to the early 90's. She has broken into the filed of acting with movies like Betty & Coretta, Black Nativity, Rock of Ages, 2017's Mudbound & the Netflix original Umbrella Academy. Now the legendary singer is tackling cable television with a role in a spinoff of 50 Cent's popular show Power.

During last week's Television Critics Association panel for Power the news was announced by the creator & lead writer Courtney Kemp.
"Today we are pleased to announce that we are in pre-production on the first of what we know will be a collection of series inspired by the dynamic world of Power. Power Book II: Ghost will continue the journey of some of Power's most controversial characters."
Blige spoke on the exciting news stating, "This is probably the most exciting thing that's going to happen to me this year. I've been a fan of Power since the very beginning & I want to thank Courtney Kemp & 50 Cent for starting this conversation with me."
