Rap Queen Lil’ Kim is no stranger to major delays when it comes to her career, but it seems like she is finally ready to get back on track. The Brooklyn femcee has birthed the music video for the latest single “Go Awff” from the album titled 9 that’ll be released sometime in May.
Kim teamed up with visual director Damien Sandoval to bring the fashion clip to fruition. She raps the tracks lyrics while being backed by dancers as she stands in front of a private jet with “Lil’ Kim” plastered on the side. She worked with famed choreographer Laurieann Gibson on the choreography & hip-hop veteran Ice T’s wife Coco makes a cameo appearance.
Kim’s new album 9 is slated to be released on May 17th making it her first since her last project 14 years ago. She’ll have 13 tracks featuring collabs with Rich The Kid, Remy Ma, Rick Ross, Fabolous, & Musiq Soulchild.
“I wanted to make a record that was empowering to girls and women all over the world to get back to my roots and not just my ladies but my boys too,” she said. “When I first heard the beat it made me feel like going awff and I knew it was the perfect record for that…No matter what your hustle is, I use ‘Go Awff’ as a term to elevate and motivate people to keep living their best lives.”
