It's a very sad day for Miami rapper Trina who lost her mother Vanessa Taylor early this morning (9/3) after her battle with cancer at the age of 62 years old. The unfortunate news was confirmed by a rep for Trina who was very close to her mother.

The 44 year old rapper has credited her mother as the reason why she is a successful & strong woman to this day. Vanessa Taylor was popular in her community who preached self worth & love & perseverance to all women.

In May of 2018 Trina released the song "Mama" featuring r&b singer Kelly Price where she rapped a thank you letter to her dear mother for all she has done for her. The heartfelt lyrics showed a more softer & sensitive side of Trina who is known for her grity rhymes.
"Thinking 'bout you mama / got me run-in' to the liquor / mama where you going'? / I'm got' have to beg to differ / I'd rather go first, or I wanna go with ya cause I can't do this without ya."
