Today (August 31st) the world continues to mourn the death of Queen of Soul singer Aretha Franklin who passed away a few weeks ago from her battle with pancreatic cancer. Many celebrities flocked to her funeral to say their final goodbyes to one of music’s icons. While at the funeral another legend Gladys Knight revealed some news that left many speechless.
Knight who was also in attendance at the homegoing service revealed the shocking news that she is also dealing with the deadly disease of cancer. The 74 year old singer is well known for one of her successful songs “Midnight Train To Georgia” & “Missing You” from the Set It Off soundtrack. In the video Knight also talking about happier times that she shared with Franklin.
*UPDATE*
While Gladys Knight makes it sound that she also is a victim of cancer it appears that it isn’t true. The singers publicist was asked what she actually meant by the statement & here what she told Detroit News.
Knight’s publicist Jay D. Schwartz says that she “does not have pancreatic cancer. She is fine.”
