Last month Rita Ora unveiled the single "Girls" featuring Cardi B, BeBe Rexha, & Charli XCX that celebrates women. The singer follows up with the music video that was directed by Helmi as they deliver a futuristic visual.
Watch it below.
When the song was released it received tons of criticism from some fans & singer Kehlani. She felt that song disrespected people of the LGBTQ community, & when Ora caught wind of the negativity she responded on the inspiration behind the record.
"Girls was written to represent my truth & is an accurate account of a very real & honest experience in my life. I have had romantic relationships with women & men throughout my life & this is my personal journey. I am sorry how I expressed myself in my song has hurt anyone. I would never intentionally cause harm to other LGBTQ+ people or anyone."
Cardi B also responded to the backlash, "We never try to cause harm or had bad intentions with the song. I personally myself had experiences with other women, shiieeett with a lot of woman!"
