ADAM LAMBERT TO BE HONORED W/ GLAAD MEDIA AWARD FOR LGBT EQUALITY


The fight for equality for all people of the LGBTQ community as been a fight that has seen a lot of progress over the past couple of years, the movement has seen some laws change & people of high power show their support for the need for change has been very emotionally overwhelming for many. American Idol season 8 winner Adam Lambert has helped many grow to feel comfortable in their own skin when he made it clear that was indeed gay during his time on the talent show. The singer/songwriter will be honored at this years 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards with the Davidson/Valentini Award when it takes place in San Francisco, California on May 11th. Lambert has been a very success & worldwide best selling music artist in the pop genre & him being a person of the gay community has shed light on many things & have brought a realization that gays can truly be excepted in the world.

In a statement GLAAD's Wilson Cruz had this to say about Adam:

"Adam Lambert's continued success as one of the world's best-selling pop stars shows LGBT people that they can be themselves and make it in a mainstream industry that many feel unfairly rejects them."

The award that will be present to Lambert was named after GLAAD's first executive director Craig Davidson & his partner Michael Valentini & is given to a individual of the LGBT community every year who does their part in spreading the word on equality. Since the beginning of his career Adam Lambert has been fearless to no limits & opened the doors for LGBT youth to feel 100% comfortable in their own skin while holding their heads held high during a difficult time of hatred & disrespect.
