During the Summer longtime friends Ashanti & Ja-Rule embarked on the Natural Born Killers Tour that saw the duo trek through 11 cities singing their classic collaborative hits. Once again they have entered the studio together for a new collaboration in support of the forthcoming body of work, Hamilton: The Mixtape. The former Murder Inc. signee's have now delivered the song titled "Helpless".

The track is a reinterpretation of the Broadway musical where Ja plays the role of Alexander Hamilton & Ashanti plays Eliza who is his wife. During an interview on Conan earlier this the creator of Hamilton, Lin Manuel Miranda revealed that the musical duo was the muse for the song. "When I was writing that song, I was picturing it as Ashanti & Ja-Rule. I was like, Eliza's Ashanti. Hamilton's Ja-Rule. Two verses, two choruses. A little Ja-Rule. And then they're married."
