The 21st anniversary of Selena's fifth & final album Dreaming Of You is approaching & it's being celebrated in a huge way. The famous Madame Tussaud's in Hollywood is celebrating the album with the unveiling of the Selena Quintanilla wax figure.
The general manager of Hollywood's Madame Tussaud's Colin Thomas made the announcement as he stated:
"At Madame Tussauds, our figures represent icons who have made a significant impact on our culture. That perfectly describes Selena. Her influence has transcended generations and her passionate fans continue to be inspired by her to this day. We recognize this and in response, we are proud to join her fans in celebrating her legacy by immortalizing her.”
After countless requests from fans the Madame Tussaud's decided to immortalize the Tejano singer in wax. The company have called on a team of very talented sculptors to bring the wax figure to life. After representers from the famed wax establishment visited Selena's hometown of Corpus Christi, TX they worked closely with the family to properly sculpt the figure. By no surprise the wax figure will entail Selena's signature fashion style from hair, makeup, clothing & poses.
Selena's sister Suzette spoke on her gratitude saying:
On behalf of our family we would like to express a huge amount of gratitude to Madame Tussauds in creating such an amazing lifelike wax figure of our beloved Selena. This is yet another step in making sure that her legacy lives on and that her fans new and old can appreciate her as a person, an artist and one whom we can all identify with."
The unveiling will take place on August 30th in Hollywood at Madame Tussauds.
