RIHANNA CANCELS PERFORMANCE DUE TO ZIKA VIRUS SCARES

Rihanna had a performance scheduled for the Lollapalooza Music Festival in Colombia but backed out of the performance due to Zika virus concerns. The pop star was set to headline the performance with other acts to follow such as Disclosure, Wiz Khalifa, and Lana Del Ray.
Due to such short notice (Rih gave 2 months notice), the whole concert was cancelled. The event promoters said that they were not able to find another headliner in time so they decided to cancel the whole event. There was also a statement made on the Lollapalooza Colombia's website apologizing for the inconvenience and hopefully trying the festival again at another time.

You can't blame Rihanna for being concerned about her health. With her career especially, health is wealth and she has to do what is best for her. In recent reports, it's said that Colombia has had the second-most cases of Zika after Brazil. Zika is a disease that is carried by infected mosquitoes and can cause serious neurological problems. The disease can also be given to a baby of an expectant mother, which can cause birth defects.

The disease is pretty serious so who wouldn't want to protect themselves from it by all means possible. Hopefully she is able to make up the show to fans who were hoping to catch her at Lollapalooza. Refunds will also be given out to those that have purchased tickets.
