MTV TO HONOR MISSY ELLIOTT W/ THE VIDEO VANGUARD AWARD AT THE 2019 VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS

Missy Elliott's music has always been ahead of it's time. Her creativity caused a wave of popularity since her debut in the 90's & in 2019 it all remains the same & gets better as more time passes. Over the course of her career she has received recognition for her contributions to the hip-hop scene, but this year she will be receiving a award that is truly long overdue. Today MTV has made the announcement that Missy will be the honoree of the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

The 2019 MTV Video Music Awards will be taking place on August 26th in New Jersey at the Prudential Center where they will have Missy Elliott celebrate her fruitful career with a performance. This will be the first time Elliott will perform at the VMA's in 16 years.
