SEVYN STREETER 76ERS NATIONAL ANTHEM PERFORMANCE CANCELLED DUE TO "WE MATTER" JERSEY

Sevyn Streeter was scheduled to perform the National Anthem at last nights Philadelphia 76er's home opener, but the performance was abruptly cancelled just moments before she was due to be on stage.

According to the singer, the cancellation of her performance was because she was wearing a sports jersey that read "We Matter". After the unfortunate situation took place Sevyn took to social media to vent her frustration with a video explaining what happened.

Check it out below.

Sadly, the 76er's did not provide any information on why exactly Sevyn's performance was cancelled but they did have this to say to ESPN:

"The Philadelphia 76er's organization encourages meaningful actions to drive social change. We use our games to bring people together, to build trust and to strengthen our communities. As we move from symbolic gestures to action, we will continue to leverage our platform to positively impact our community."

After the cancelation one of teams dancers was used as a fill in to sing The National Anthem for the game. Streeter spoke on how she was very saddened at what took place.

"I was very angry, extremely, extremely angry, and disappointed and honestly brought to tears by all of it. It broke my heart. Honestly, I was very excited about being able to perform the national anthem. I was really looking forward to that."
