Looks like congrats are in order for St. Louis rapper Nelly and his album Country Grammar going certified diamond. If your anything like me, then you didn't know anything about going past platinum, however, very few make it to this status apparently. Nelly's album makes the 8th hip hop album to reach this diamond certification, and he is definitely in great company up there.

Other rappers that have made it to diamond certification are Eminem, Notorious B.I.G, Outkast, 2 Pac, and MC Hammer. In order to reach diamond status, you have to sell 10 million records and while that is not easy to do, these rappers listed above were able to do so. The RIAA surprised Nelly and presented him with a plaque during a show in Philadelphia last night.

Country Grammar gave us hits such as "Ride With Me" and "E.I" and this was Nelly's first album. This album definitely had some hits on it, so this is a deserving accomplishment for the rapper. Congrats again to Nelly and just for some nostalgia, listen to Country Grammar below.... Throwback but it aint Thursday!
