JANET JACKSON PENS HEARTFELT NOTE TO AALIYAH


Yesterday (August 25th) marked the 14th anniversary of the unfortunate death of singer/dancer Aaliyah who passed away back in 2001 in a plane crash as she was coming back from Jamaica filming her "Rock The Boat" music video. Fans & many celebrities showed their love to the fallen singer via social media as they all did their part to make sure her memory stays alive. Janet Jackson took some time out of planning her upcoming world tour to pen a heart felt letter to Aaliyah that she shared on twitter & instagram.

"What I shared with u ever sacred everlasting N it's pure + it will endure. I love u Aaliyah. #RIP"

Ms. Jackson captioned the photo of the letter with lyrics from her 1997 song "Together Again" from the Velvet Rope album.

"I know u r there shining down on me."

During the short lived years of her life Aaliyah had expressed her love for Janet & had hopes to one day work with her. In a interview she had this to say about Jackson, "I admire her a great deal. She's a total performer. I'd love to do a duet with her."
