A$AP ROCKY COVERS "INTERVIEW" MAGAZINE & TALKS HIS SUPPORT FOR GAYS

Music artists A$AP Rocky is covering the newest issue of Interview magazine where he is flaunting his crazy & unique fashion style which is something that has gotten him a lot of attention along with his music. In the issue Rocky was interview by Alexander Wang when he spoke on a topic that many have swept under the rug within the hip hop community for many years.

Pop the top for the interview.

The subject of homosexuality in the hip hop community has brought a lot of negative comments & disrespectful actions & lyrics from artists of the genre making it easier for up & coming rap artists who are gay to feel as though they have a place in the rap genre.

“So now that I’m here and I’ve got a microphone in my hand and about 6,000 people watching me, I need to tell them how I feel.

“For instance, one big issue in hip-hop is the gay thing. It’s 2013, and it’s a shame that, to this day, that topic still gets people all excited. It’s crazy. And it makes me upset that this topic even matters when it comes to hip-hop, because it makes it seem like everybody in hip-hop is small-minded or stupid — and that’s not the case.

“We’ve got people like Jay-Z. We’ve got people like Kanye. We’ve got people like me. We’re all prime examples of people who don’t think like that. I treat everybody equal, and so I want to be sure that my listeners and my followers do the same if they’re gonna represent me. And if I’m gonna represent them, then I also want to do it in a good way.”

I will say that I have a big respect for A$AP Rocky for opening up & voicing his opinions & thoughts on this topic that many people have ignored many of times for a very long time. It's very funny that some artists feel as though it's a tough & awkward subject to speak about yet it is very easy for them to belittle people of the gay community with negative slurs like no homo & faggot in their music. Once again I give much respect to A$AP Rocky for his positive thoughts.
